"You’ll keep running around in circles and never score until you set a goal...”
-- Linda B James
Sticking firmly to your game plan means setting written goals to achieve high performance levels. Short–term and long-term accomplishments are more obtainable when you have established objectives and a plan to achieve them. Below is one way to "blast away" wishful thinking with clear expectations, timelines and deadlines!
Setting goals in writing eliminates the “I don’t know what I am supposed to do now” question and keeps you focused on your target.
Research has proven this notion to be on point. More than 30 years ago, a study was conducted with a group of recent graduates from Harvard University's MBA program.
3% of the class had written crystal clear goals and plans,
13% had unwritten goals, and...
84% were "winging it" and leaving it up to chance...
Ten years later, these students were interviewed.
The results spoke for themselves:
The 13% who had unwritten goals were earning roughly twice as much as the 84% who left it up to chance.
The grads in who had crystal clear, written goals and action plans
(the 3%) accomplished even more!
This focused group earned roughly ten times more than their former classmates--combined!
If you want to reach your pot of G.O.A.L - write it, envision it, speak it ... and believe it. Let’s score!
