In Part 1 of this blog, I gave a brief explanation of the process by which self discipline is attained by men and women in uniform, particularly in the military. This excerpt from my latest book Hustle While You Wait is intended in provide insight into the strategies needed to build self-discipline.

To summarize, Self-Discipline...

  1. ...is important in the military to all servicemen and servicewomen, particularly those who make life and death decisions.
  2. ...must be at the starting gate of your success track. It may be imperceptible to others, but without it, you’ll fail.
  3. ...is the sibling of self-sufficiency, self-assurance, self-perseverance and self-control. It’s the training before the race. It’s needed to develop your strengths. It’s also a learned skill. If you’re not pleased with your level of discipline, develop it.
  4. ...embodies the unshakable spirit of determination. Your ability to motivate yourself in the midst of chaos comes from this source.

Learn about it... Find it in you... Build it.

To your success,
