"Solitude is freedom. It is a quiet opportunity to hear our thoughts instead of the thoughts of others.”
-- Linda B James
Why Is Having Peace and Quiet So Important?
Take a break from the rat race. The hustle and bustle of life can take its toll. The body needs its downtime from stress. Stress can wear you down mentally, physically, and emotionally. You need to escape from distractions.
Being over stimulated can make you cranky and unpleasant to be around. You need to renew your spirit and to get reacquainted with yourself. Many great writers and philosophers find solitude to be an essential part of their creativity.
I can hear my thoughts. Silence gives you an opportunity to listen to your inner child. You can think through an unresolved situation and maybe find solutions. Decluttering your thoughts prepares you for upcoming activities and adventures. Going into new situations without bringing burden from the past is energizing. This is time for positive reflection and soul searching. Solitude is a needed transition before you embark on changes in your life.
Be still. Wow, you can hear sounds that you never hear before, like birds chirping, the wind blowing, and yourself breathing. Take advantage of this time. Try meditating, journaling, staring at the window, closing your eyes, watching a movie, or shopping. You have the freedom to do as you wish.
To your success,
